A recent Gallup report - The State of the American Workplace: Employee Engagement Insights for U.S. Business Leaders – found that 70% of American workers were either “not engaged” or “actively disengaged” at their jobs.

This lack of staff engagement comes with significant effects. The same report finds that the top 25% of teams (the motivated and engaged) have nearly 50% fewer accidents and 41% fewer quality defects than the bottom 25%. In areas, such as healthcare, having engaged staff can mean the difference between life and death.

Happy staff make for happy customers. Being part of a successful team, working for and with people who appreciate us, being respected for the job we do, is what drives motivation and engagement. Motivated, engaged and trained staff create a culture of hospitality that delivers an outstanding experience for their patients and guests.
